Adverts you can account for

Paid for what was really seen.

One network, two customers, one trade between them. An advertiser names a price. A publisher is paid a share of every advert that was really seen. Nothing in between looks at the person reading.

Two people, one trade

One has a picture and a budget. One has a website and a space.

Everything in between — choosing what to show, counting that it was seen, turning that count into money — is done here. And none of it looks at who's reading.

For advertisers · Studio

Book it. Name a price. Pay for what was on a screen.

A shop, a campaign, a constituency office — anyone who has never been able to check what they were charged for.

  1. Book a campaign — it holds the money and the dates
  2. Set the bid on an ad group — per thousand views, one group per size
  3. Upload a picture or a short clip — read by a person before it runs
  4. Top up in advance — campaigns spend it down; nobody runs up a bill

Charged for what was really seen

For publishers · Publishing

Paste two lines. Get paid.

For the site owner who has been told the only way to earn from a page is to let a tracker onto it. It isn't.

  1. Register a domain — the site the slots live on
  2. Mark out a slot — at one of the standard sizes, with your floor
  3. Paste two lines into the page — no cookie, no third-party request
  4. Be paid a share of every advert really seen — whether or not their card went through

Paid for what was really seen

Both? One Roola account, Studio and Publishing, and a switch between them.

A delivery is not an impression

Four words on a delivery. One of them costs money.

An advert fetched into a slot below the fold has been delivered and never seen. Charging for it is charging for nothing. So we don't.

01

Delivered

The page asked, an advert was chosen and sent. A row is written. Nobody is charged.

03

Clicked

A click names a delivery, never a URL, so the click route can't be turned into an open redirect on your site.

04

Settled

One charge and one earning, in one transaction, at the price copied onto the delivery when it went out.

Nothing looks at the person

The slot, the date, the bid. That's all it knows.

The advert is chosen from the size of the space, the date, and who bid for it. Not from who you are, what you read, or what you bought.

  • No profile, because nothing builds one. No history, because nothing keeps one. No inference from the page, because the network never reads the page.
  • The tag sets no cookie, stores nothing and makes no third-party request. That's not a setting. There's nothing to switch on.
  • The one thing it remembers about a viewer is a hash that stops the same person being counted twice in half an hour, and it forgets that too.

For publishers

Your site. Your slot. Two lines.

Register a domain, mark out a slot, paste the tag. The card it draws is dressed from your own CSS variables, so it looks like your site and not ours.

  • The script tag

For any website at all. No cookie, no third-party request, and the honest count: it knows when it was on screen.

  • A React component

The same card, for a React site.

  • An iframe

For a publisher who won't run our script. It can't know whether it is on screen, so its impressions are counted when it loads. We offer it anyway, and say so.

What you paste

<div data-roola-ad
     data-publisher="your-site"
     data-placement="sidebar"></div>
<script async
  src="https://api.roola.ad/sdk/v2/adverts.js"></script>
  • A fixed list of sizes, matched exactly. Creatives and slots both have to be one of them.
  • Nothing lands on your site that a person hasn't looked at first.
  • You see the viewability figure too — the reporting it flatters least is yours, and you see it anyway.

Where it runs

How the doors stay open. And anyone's from launch day.

It's the network behind the sponsored cards on Roola and Helix, and anyone can join from either side. Five products that don't rank or profile still have to be paid for. This is how, and it keeps the same promise.

There are no adverts on Politicise or News.

Account for it

One event. Both ends. In one line.

The dashboard moves as adverts are seen and clicked. Every chart has a table beside it, because a number you can only get by hovering is a number you can't check.

Prepaid

Nobody runs up a bill

Top up in advance and campaigns spend it down. Pause a group and that group stops; pause a campaign and every group in it does.

Priced on the way out

Last month stays last month

The price is copied onto the delivery when it goes out. Raising a bid later can't reprice adverts that already ran.

Append-only

A correction is a new row

One confirmed impression writes the charge and the earning in one transaction. Money is exact, and rounded once, at the edge.

Read by a person

Refused with a reason

Every advert is read before it runs. A refusal comes from a fixed list, with the reason. Fix it and send it back.

Opening soon

Advertiser or publisher, get on the list.

The network has no advertisers and no sites yet — we're saying so cheerfully. Leave an address and your first campaign, or your first slot, will be ready when we open.

One email when we open. Nothing else, ever. Sign in with the Roola account you already have.
